Transport Operations & Commercial Driving Apprenticeship at The Cope

The Cope is offering a Commercial Transport Apprenticeship, within its Builders Providers division, for intake in September 2026. This role will support the operation of a busy warehouse and a regional delivery fleet of vans and lorries.

This apprenticeship provides hands-on training in all aspects of commercial transport and logistics, including goods handling, safe loading and unloading, vehicle checks, route planning, customer deliveries, and warehouse operations. As the candidate progresses through their driving licences, they will gain practical, supervised experience operating a range of vehicles within the delivery fleet, building confidence and competence step by step. Alongside on-the-job learning, apprentices will complete formal training under the CDAP programme, developing the skills, safety awareness, and professional standards required for a long-term career in the transport and logistics sector.

As an apprentice you will:

✔️ Be employed and paid for the full 2-year programme

✔️ Gain a Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) in Transport Operations & Commercial Driving

✔️ Achieve your C & CE truck driving licence and Driver CPC qualification

✔️ Gain valuable on-the-job experience while studying online with ATU Sligo

✔️ Work four days per week with The Cope and attend one day of online classes during term time

This apprenticeship is designed to develop the skills, knowledge and professional qualifications needed for a career in the transport sector, with strong opportunities for progression and long-term employment.
