Position: Commercial Driving Apprentice

Corrib Oil are now recruiting Driver apprentices under the Commercial Driving Apprenticeship programme for the academic term commencing September 2024.

Apprentice – Transport Operations & Commercial Driving Apprenticeship (cdap.ie)

The Driver Apprenticeship Program is a structured training program that combines on-the-job learning and classroom learning. You will work as part of a team in one of our depots, warehouses, or distribution centres, and learn how to operate, maintain, and repair various types of vehicles and equipment. You will also attend courses where you will study subjects such as health and safety, logistics, customer service, and business administration.

As an apprentice, you will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and mentoring support. You will also have the opportunity to progress within the company and pursue further education and career development. Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a nationally recognised level 6 qualification

To apply you need to meet the following requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • Hold a full (Clean) B Licence for enrolment.
  • Earn as You Learn
  • Forklift experience desirable
  • Meet Medical Requirements.
  • Team Player
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland
  • Minimum entry requirements are grade H7/06 or above in five
  • Leaving Cert (or equivalent subjects)
  • You must have completed secondary school or equivalent
  • You must have a strong interest in the Distribution sector
  • Holders of QQI Level 5 or 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (eg business, logistics & distribution, supply chain management ,etc.) can apply for entry onto year 1 of the programme
  • A mature candidate,over the age of 23, who does not hold qualifications as set out above, but who has a minimum of two years experience working as commercial driver or is recommended by their employer
